4. There are no real new characters that were introduced but Mr. Utterson does mention Hyde for the first time to Dr. Jekyll. Dr. Jekyll was very shocked to hear about Mr. Hyde. "He grew pale to the very lips" (pg 10, paragraph 6) Dr. Jekyll says that he cannot say about the relationship between him and Mr. Hyde because he claims that "it cannot be mended by talking." (pg 10, paragraph 8) Also, Mr.Utterson and Dr. Jekyll was mentioned in this chapter.

5. Dr. Jekyll's house is the main setting. He invited five or six old cronies to dinner and good wine.

6. Hyde does not physically appear but he does appear during the conversation between Mr. Utterson and Dr. Jekyll.

7. Hyde does not physically appear. However, when Mr. Utterson mentions him during the discussion, Dr. Jekyll sounded very surprised and speechless. "The large handsom face of Dr. Jekyll grew pale to the very lips, and there came a blackness about his eyes. "I do not care to hear more," said he. "This is a matter I thought we had agreed to drop." (pg 10, paragraph 6)
